Dr Kim Farrington

MBBS MForensMed, FFCM (RCPA)

Dr Farrington has over 20 years' experience managing the medical, forensic and psychological care of people who have experienced recent sexual assault.


She has a Master of Clinical Forensic Medicine from Monash University and is a Founding Fellow of the Faculty of Clinical Forensic Medicine, Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia. She is currently serving as the National Chair of the Faculty of Clinical Forensic Medicine.


Dr Farrington works at the Sexual Assault Resource Centre (SARC), including recently as lead of the medical team in WA. In 2022 she originated the concept of early evidence collection following sexual assault on remote mine sites which led to a 3 year project to design and develop kits for this purpose. During the project she worked collaboratively with both WA Police and DEMIRS.


Dr Farrington is a passionate educator and has taught thousands of WA’s doctors, nurses, medical students and paramedics on responding to sexual assault.
